Thank you, Debbie and the Guam Chapter Executive Committee, for leading our Chapter to Platinum once again. Congratulations to Ricky Hernandez, our past National Council of Chapters Representative for earning the National Emerging Leader Award of Excellence. He was also our guest speaker for COVID Transitions for our May General Membership meeting. He was recently appointed as the Deputy Director of the Guam International Airport Authority. We are proud of your accomplishments.
I want to echo, Past President Debbie in, "Recognizing the hard work and dedication of our CEC and membership, these national achievements would not have been possible, our Chaper Director of Professional Certification Maripaz Perez, CGFM; Director of Accountability Doreen Crisostomo, Ph.D., CGFM; and Director and Co-Director of Community Service Margie Francisco, CPA and Vanessa Valencia for their leadership and service to our membership and the community. The Platinum Level Award recognizes the Guam chapter's outstanding efforts to uphold the AGA's mission. The Chapter CGFM members recognizes chapters that have done an outstanding job in promoting the CGFM Program and its members, other accountability professionals and their community. the Chapter Accountability and Transparency Award recognizes chapters that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment in being a leading source of informaiton and knowledge on accountability and transparency for members and the government community. The Chapter Community Service Award recognizes chapters that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service by participating in a number of projects which require significant commitment of time and/or resrouces.
Welcome to our new CEC members: Vince Duenas who will be chairing our 50th Anniversary Commitee; Alfredo Tinoso, Student representative on Young Professionals (YP); Amacris Legaspi, Membership; Rizalito Paglingayen and Ranel Ranoa Research and Standards; Lorbea Palaming, Scholarship; Mariella Cruz, Communications student member; and Michelle Puno, YP member and Accountability Programs.
We are planning quarterly activities to commemorate our 50th Anniversary. We are also planning our biennial Guam Professional Development Conference in February 2021. We need your help to make these events a success.
